World of Warcraft, the most dangerous computer game
Do your kids play online games on the computer? If yes then you should begin getting conscious about the time they spend on it. From kids to youths, everyone seem to be addicted to online games these days, but it is said that no more than 2 hours of online gaming is good for health. If people around you seem to be addicted to World of warcraft(a very popular MMORPG), you should warn them as a Swedish youth organization specializing in game addiction says that “World of Warcraft is the crack cocaine of the computer world.”
In the organization’s report, Sven Rollenhagen, claims, "There is not a single case of game addiction that we have worked with in which World of Warcraft has not played a part." World of Warcraft holds the highest risk of addiction. The child for the report is a 15-year old Swedish boy who collapsed after playing World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King for 24 hours straight. The boy could have survived had his parents taken some control over his gaming addiction as World of Warcraft has a wide range of settings for parental control. Parents can set start and stop times for any day of the week.
So, be careful not to get to much obsessed with online games like World of Warcraft.
great post
I think the big question is... why is specifically WoW so addictive... I mean, there are tons of MMORPGs out there, why is WoW the one they always deal with??
I deal a bit with this in a few posts over on my blog at Sounds an awful lot like a drug addiction to me... and I unfortunately know from experience... :P
I'm sure it isn't the same for all people, but there must be a pre-disposition to something like this.
I talk about it a bit on my blog, -recovering WoW Addict of about 6 months clean :)
