Meehive-your all in one customized newspaper
MeeHive, a new service launched today aims at giving people a custom newspaper or a tabloid composed of stories and articles from different sources mostly the popular news sites. The site uses the resources of a universal search engine called Kosmix that gathers data from a variety of sources producing great aggregated pages. Users can find pages on any of their favorite topics on the site, entering the required keywords.
MeeHive builds a digital newspaper, using the updated and fresh content from a variety of trusted sources including news sites like CNN, BBC and also the popular blogs in the blogosphere. The Kosmix authority algorithm is used which is supposed to work well, pulling in the relevant stories, filtering out the false unauthorized content and making sure that an information is not duplicated.
The site also shows the most recent Tweets relevant to the favorite topics. People can also opt to read the stuff on their favorite topics directly in their email or on iPhone via the site’s iPhone application. Users can also share the items they liked with friends, making their reading more interesting. Such a combination of news and updates can also be gathered through feed aggregators but this site has made it easy for almost anyone with basic knowledge of computer.
