Snapstream shows trending topics on TV
Snapstream, has launched its trending topics site for TV. The site is very interactive and lets you see the hot tags or keywords, i.e. the ones that are being mentioned and searched the most and also the cold words that are losing popularity on the television channels. Whats more interesting is that, you can also enter a maximum of 5 keywords into TV Trends and you’ll get a illustrative graph that compares their frequency and popularity of mentions. It actually analyses the mentions on popular news channels like FOX, MSNBC, ABC, CBS, NBC and CNN.
Snapstream crawls closed-captioning text for programs that they record. Snapstream filters out local programming, sitcoms, and sports and then cleans-up and indexes data for the trends. When you visualize a trendy keyword, the site will give show you the excerpts of stories at selected points along the curve and also lets you filter the results by network i.e. the channels they appear on. For example, you can chart trends of the mention of “New York” on CNN alone. The site also lets you embed the stats of the TV trends on your site. The gadget is powered by Google. Anyway Snapstrem provides a really good comparision chart for the TV Trends.
