Youtube as we all knew of some 5-6 years ago isn’t the same anymore. The largest video site on the web is accessed by billions of users from their computers, tablets and mobile phones. Google has been making lots of changes in Youtube in the last few years and now Youtube just doesn’t serve as a video site but serves as a portfolio for many brands and artists as well.

Around 60 hours of video is uploaded to Youtube every minute from all over the world. This is a massive increase from the 48 hours of video uploaded per minute as per the stats of May 2011. Youtube was acquired by Google for $1.65 billion in 2006. Youtube is Google’s one of the most beneficial acquisitions till date. Videos on Youtube are also monetized by Google and not just that. Google lets the video owners earn revenues from their videos.

Youtube just recently got a fully revamped look as compared to its look a year ago. It was given the name Cosmic Panda. The website now specially features the channels organized on the basis of the type of videos a user is interested in. Youtube has also struck video programming deals with media partners and artists and now has about 100 such deals in total.
